Sunday Kind of Love
Saturday weddings are the most popular, but why not consider another day of the week? How about a Sunday kind of love?
... And my arms need someone
Someone to enfold
To keep me warm when Mondays and Tuesdays grow cold
Love for all my life to have and to hold
...Oh and I want a Sunday kind of love
- Etta James
My own wedding was on a Sunday. Out-of-towners arrived Friday and after a welcome cocktail party that evening, we had all day Saturday to visit, finish some set-up details with helpful friends and family while some took advantage of the day to enjoy the sites and activities in our area. Then, after a perfect Sunday wedding, Stewart and I left on Monday for our honeymoon.
There are some benefits to choosing a Sunday wedding in addition to the romantic notion of true, lasting love inspired by the lyrics in Etta James' song!
- Cost. Most venues (Agua Linda Farm included) offer a discount for non-Saturday events.
- Sunday weddings are a good choice if you are having out of town guests. Most people have to take at least one day off to travel to a wedding, why not take Monday off instead of Friday? People tend to have more time to spend with friends and family they haven't seen for a while throughout the weekend.
- Availability. During peek wedding season, dates book up quickly - especially Saturdays. You are more likely to get the venue you want during the time of year you want if you choose another day of the week.
Once you have found the venue of your dreams, consider the benefits of a Sunday weddings!
