A Summer Elopement on a Private Ranch Near Tucson, Arizona
An Arizona bride brings her Hawaiian groom to the farm venue that held special memories for their romantic, intimate wedding
As the owner and manager of Agua Linda Farm, I have had the pleasure of witnessing many beautiful love stories unfold on our grounds, but the elopement of Noah and Marley holds a special place in my heart. I have known Marley since she was a 2nd grade student of mine back in my teaching days. When she was in high school, Marley pitched in with our family and crew when we had our annual pumpkin festival in the fall.
She has always been so kind, helpful, quick to smile always a joy to be around, so I was VERY honored that she came back to Southern Arizona and chose our wedding venue for this most important occasion!
Noah and Marley met during a period of transition in their lives—Marley had just returned to Southern Arizona, where she grew up, after living in Denver, while Noah was adjusting to life in the desert after serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mozambique. Their love story, which began two and a half years ago, has been nothing short of an adventure, filled with road trips, delicious food, outdoor excursions, and incredible personal growth.
On April 27, 2024, Noah proposed amidst the stunning lavender fields of Los Poblanos in New Mexico. They initially planned to marry in Hawaii, Noah's home state, where most of his family resides. However, as they began planning, the couple realized they wanted a stress-free day focused on fun and family, so they decided to elope in Arizona and wait to have a reception in Hawaii the following year.
When it came to choosing a venue, Agua Linda Farm was at the top of their list. The connection Marley felt to this beautiful ranch and the quiet privacy it offers made it the perfect place for their intimate ceremony. We were honored to help make their dream a reality.
On July 13, 2024, beneath the shade of a giant mesquite tree, Noah and Marley exchanged vows surrounded by just 10 of their closest family members. Marley looked stunning in her elegant, but simple, off-the-shoulder linen dress with delicate sterling and turquoise jewelry while Noah was handsome in a white linen shirt with a very subtle Hawaiian print and linen khaki pants— just right for a hot July evening in Arizona. The ceremony was as perfect as they had envisioned, and we were delighted to play a role in making it so.
Set up was fairly simple (helps to have such a beautiful, natural setting!). I draped some fabric on a wrought iron arch and placed ten chairs for the ceremony under an old mesquite tree with the mountains beyond (I love that tree!! So many have exchanged vows in that spot embraced by those giant limbs that, to me, seem to literally be hugging the couple as they vow to spend the rest of their lives together!). I set out a table with water and lemonade dispensers with water goblets and flutes for champagne. The family brought light snacks and dessert was coconut flavored Mexican Paletas (PERFECT blend of Hawaii and the culture of Southern Arizona AND a great choice for a summer-time treat!). Stewart (my husband and in-house DJ/lighting tech), provided a sound system for Marley and Noah to run music with their own devices. After the ceremony, photos were taken and the family visited, enjoyed beverages and played corn-hole as the sun set.
It was truly a joy to see Noah and Marley so happy, and we are thrilled that they chose Agua Linda Farm for their elopement. This day will forever be treasured by all who were a part of it, and we wish Noah and Marley a lifetime of love and happiness.
