A Family Love Story: Lily & Elijah's October Wedding at Agua Linda Farm

From helping out as a kid on the family farm to saying "I do" in the very pastures where she grew up and played, Lily and her groom, Elijah chose the land she loved for this most important day.

Some weddings are special because of the beautiful details, the stunning setting, or the joy shared among family and friends. Lily and Elijah's October wedding at Agua Linda Farm was all of those things—but for me, it was even more meaningful. Lily is my niece, the oldest child of my dear sister, and watching her marry the love of her life at our Southern Arizona wedding venue was an experience I'll treasure forever.

From the very beginning, Lily had a clear vision for her wedding day. She insisted on holding the ceremony out in the pasture rather than in one of our more traditional ceremony spaces. Her love for the ranch runs deep. As a child, she spent countless autumn days here helping alongside her cousins during our annual pumpkin festival, creating memories that have become part of her story. Returning to those same pastures to say her vows felt perfectly fitting.
October is one of the most beautiful months at Agua Linda Farm. The grasses take on golden hues, the air is crisp, and the mountain views seem endless. To complement the natural beauty of the landscape, Lily's future sister-in-law, a professional florist, created breathtaking meadow-style floral installation for the ceremony that were placed in the pasture before the ceremony (I had warned Lily that if they were placed too soon, the cows might gobble them up!).

Guests arrived and gathered beneath the shade of our ceremony grove, enjoying conversation and anticipation before being ushered out into the open pasture just moments before the ceremony began. As they emerged into the golden fields, they were greeted by sweeping Southern Arizona mountain views and a ceremony setting unlike any other. It was heartfelt, intimate, and deeply personal.
Lily's creativity was woven throughout every detail of the day.
An accomplished artist, she designed her own wedding invitations and created the colorful fabric swags that danced above the reception floor. Her artistic touch made every corner of the celebration feel uniquely hers.

One of the most memorable reception details was the use of large rolls of white butcher paper covering the guest tables. Guests were encouraged to doodle, sketch, write messages, and create artwork throughout the evening with crayons placed on tables. The result was a collection of spontaneous memories and laughter that perfectly reflected the couple's playful spirit. Even the seating assignments carried an artistic flair, with crayon names marking places at the head table.
The reception was equally unforgettable. Dinner was lovingly prepared by a family friend and was absolutely incredible, bringing everyone together over a meal that felt both elegant and personal.
Soft pastel colors appeared throughout the celebration—in the bridesmaids' dresses, delicate bud vase arrangements, and the thoughtfully curated assortment of colorful napkins that brightened each table.
As the sun dipped behind the mountains and the sky turned shades of pink and gold, family and friends gathered beneath the lights to celebrate. The dance floor stayed full, laughter echoed across the ranch, and the festivities continued well into the night.

Lily and Elijah's wedding was a beautiful reminder of why I love hosting weddings at Agua Linda Farm. It's not just an outdoor wedding venue near Tucson—it's a place where families gather, traditions are made, and memories span generations. Knowing that my niece treasured her time spent throughout her life here at the farm so much that she chose Agua Linda for this most important day is the very reason why we do what we do.
Congratulations, Lily and Elijah. May your marriage be filled with as much creativity, joy, and love as the incredible day that brought everyone together to celebrate your beginning.
